CHILD and ADOLESCENT EXAMS
The health department provides exams for children and young adults up to the age of 21. The Medicaid Program pays for this exam if the individual has Medicaid. The cost of the exam for individuals that do not have Medicaid is subject to a sliding fee based on income. Income is assessed to determine the cost of the exam.
The purpose of the program is to provide a comprehensive health and history screening and assessment of the physical, mental, and social well being of children birth through 20 years of age. If an individual is currently receiving preventive healthcare from another provider, the patient will be referred back to that provider. If a patient is not currently receiving preventive health care from another provider, preventive health care will be offered/provided. This program targets children who do not have any important health problems, and are growing and developing in a normal fashion.
