Food Service Establishments

The Woodford County Board of Health approved the posting of food service establishment scores by the Health Department Environmentalist. This began July 2011. Regular inspection and follow-up inspection scores will be posted in an area easily seen by the public. The Environmentalist uses the new food code regulations when conducting all food service establishment inspections.

The Woodford County Health Department makes routine inspections on food service establishments. Key items of concern during inspections include employee practices and cleanliness, food protection during storage and preparation, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and utensils, insect and rodent control and the storage of toxic materials. Inspection criteria is based on the Food Service Code. Scoring is as follows:

  • 60-69 (60-69) Issued a notice of intent to suspend permit and a hearing is requested
  • 59 or Below Immediate closure of the establishment
